Elite:Dangerous. Shield class vs offline charging speed

Different class shields have different offline charging speed. Here I will take a look at the difference between A3 A4 A5 A6 and A7 shields on Anaconda with almost same shield strength - 600 MJ each.
Elite Dangerous

Introduction

Anaconda with class 3A up to class 7A shield generator, all around 600MJ (so 50% is around 300MJ) achieved with shield boosters. Offline shields will come back online exactly at 50% of total shield strength and offline shields charge much faster than online. Online shields charge at steady 1 MJ/sec speed if there is enough energy in SYS capacitor.

Also after you lose shields they will start charging only after 17 second delay, so shields do not charge the second you lose them but there is a delay.

Difference between different rating shields is 7,5%:

A D rated shield is 7.5% stronger than an E rated shield of the same class.

A C rated shield is 15% stronger than an E rated shield of the same class.

A B rated shield is 22.5% stronger than an E rated shield of the same class.

An A rated shield is 30% stronger than an E rated shield of the same class.

And remember that online shield total strength is determined by how many pips you have in SYS - 4 pips vs 0 pips will allow you to absorb 2,5 times more damage so under heavy fire it's crucial to keep 4 pips to SYS.
